Get Away
She was beaten the other day
by some man that she gave a chance
but should've looked the other way
to escape her reality, she puts on the clothes of a casualty
smokes some heaven on earth just to calm her mentality
the boots of travel,
the jeans of abandonment
the sweater of comfort,
the jacket of banishment
glasses makes her feel invisible to hide her wounds
heart and mind solar eclipse,
her sun felt her moon
before she leaves she cleans and swept her room
sits to think, cries, and wept too soon
gets on the train of forgetfulness and wonder
watching the city lights of trying to keep from going under
haven't heard from her mother, haven't seen her brother
never thought she'd feel so alone in a world full of others
