Father and Son Conversations

Son, be aware,
question everything that they teach you;
it was hard for folks to understand me,
so it will be hard for them to reach you;

I know you might not understand this now,
but you will when you get older;
while our people are dying
and the world getting colder;

understand that you come from a lineage of Kings and Gods;
you can start your own business,
you're not meant to work no job;

though it might seem odd,
to be different than others;
you have to walk in truth,
don't keep it covered;
respect our women
like you respect your mother;

respect yourself and be a gentleman;
don't be afraid to speak your mind,
don't belittle the mentally crippled men;

be humble, be loving, make peace;
be around positivity,
stay out them streets;

know that a life full of mistakes is better than a life doing nothing;
get involved in your community,
make a change, do something;

the world will fear you;
but God will always be near you.
